We are OCTAVE AB, a tech start-up at the intersection of music, data and finance.
Our mission is to change how we value professionals in the music industry and to create real financial stability and fair wealth distribution for the people who actually create and move culture.
 

We believe that real market growth happens when other markets grow with us: insurance, banking, and production of goods and services. Growth is more than direct sales or short-term profit. That’s why we’re developing a new metric model that captures cultural and economic movement – including secondary and tertiary markets – and turns it into usable financial insight.
 

We are now looking for a small founding team of builders:

• Full Stack Developer*

• Data / AI Engineer*

• UX Designer*

1. Full Stack Developer*

Role Summary
You deliver end-to-end web applications: from architecture and data models to polished interfaces. You own features from design through deployment and help us build a scalable, maintainable product across the entire stack.

Responsibilities
 

• Architect, implement and maintain full-stack features using TypeScript, React, Tailwind CSS and Python(Django-Ninja or FastAPI).

• Design and develop REST/GraphQL APIs with clean, modular, event-driven patterns.

• Implement SQL-based data models, write optimized Postgres queries, and ensure data integrity.

• Use Supabase in proof-of-concept development.

• Containerize services with Docker and support cloud deployments.

• Collaborate with UX, Product and Data to deliver cohesive, user-centric solutions.

• Maintain high code quality through CI/CD, code reviews, testing and solid Git practices.

• Work with Test Driven Development (TDD).

• Work with Jira in our planning and tracking workflows.

2. Data / AI Engineer*

Role Summary
You build and operate scalable data and ML/AI pipelines that turn raw data into reliable, production-ready insights and models. You bridge data engineering with modern AI workflows, including vector databases and agentic systems.

Responsibilities
 

• Architect and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines for structured, semi-structured and streaming data.

• Design robust data ingestion from multiple sources, with validation, sanitization and quality checks.

• Build and optimize data storage solutions, including modern lakehouse and DLT frameworks.

• Develop ML workflows using scikit-learn, PyTorch or LLM frameworks.

• Implement vector databases, embedding generation and retrieval-augmented pipelines.

• Build agentic systems and automation using modern LLM design patterns.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to deploy AI functionality into production systems.

• Use Jira to help keep work visible, prioritized and on track.

3. UX Designer*

Role Summary
You create intuitive, consistent, user-centred product experiences. You work from research to prototypes, using modern design tools and AI-assisted workflows to deliver high-quality UX/UI quickly.

Responsibilities
 

• Conduct user interviews, surveys and usability tests to uncover needs and validate concepts.

• Produce wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity UIs and interactive prototypes in Figma.

• Use Lovable and other AI-assisted design tools to explore variations and speed up iteration.

• Partner with Product and Engineering to translate requirements into clear, practical design solutions.

• Maintain and evolve design systems, ensuring visual and interaction consistency.

• Analyse user behaviour and funnel data to refine usability, accessibility and conversion.

• Champion a user-first approach across the product development cycles.

• Work with Jira as part of our daily collaboration.

How We Work & What We Offer

We are a start-up. Yes, that means budgets are limited – but we are serious about shared upside.

• We are open to shareholder / stakeholder positions for key team members.

• We understand that not everyone has savings or family support; people still need to pay rent and eat.

  • For that reason there will be limited cash budgets available for situations where a minimum income is essential.

• We are currently in the process of raising substantial capital. The coming period is crucial, which is why we are offering equity now:

  • Help us build, and grow with us as an early co-builder.
     

We’re convinced that our launching product and the follow-up developments have real potential to scale. There is literally nothing quite like what we are building – not just in terms of data capture, but in what we actually do with the data.
 

Where many companies lack creativity and vision, we focus on something simple and powerful: value based on flow and enablement – asset assessment.

This “asset” does not formally exist yet. That’s what we are creating. A new index system that combines:
 

• traditional economic signals,

• cultural development, and

• the narratives and businesses that are enabled by the music ecosystem.
